Most marketing agencies run a playbook.
They reuse the same website structure that has worked before and the same six ad formats in a different colour. In fragrance it's fatal, because the only thing you're selling is the opposite of homogeneity.
So the edges go first. The quirks get flattened, and what survives is whatever you already had in common with everyone else on the market.
At Madling, we do it the long way. Every campaign is built from your own brand DNA and your own material rather than adapted from someone else's.
You get to keep your edges without sacrificing growth. That's the whole job.
The fragrances we liked most were the ones getting the least attention.
Based in Los Angeles, Madling is a women-owned agency run by Katie Ma and Anna Quan. We started it because that gap in recognition kept bothering us — and because a category this specific deserves people who work in it and nowhere else.
Our team is small on purpose. You'll always be talking to the person doing the work. No account managers, no handoffs to juniors.

Four things. That's the whole list.
Every one of them runs the same way. The story does the selling and the data decides what survives. Nobody can smell your work before they buy it, so the story carries more weight here than in almost any category — and now that anyone can generate a product ad in minutes, it's the only part that can't be copied.
Take one, take all four. We'll tell you honestly when one won't move without another — but we don't force the bundle.

Three steps. No mystery.
Book a discovery call
Thirty minutes. We look at your site and your ads before your first meeting, so it isn't a sales call. It's the first bit of work.
We outline a custom plan
What we'd do for you, in what order, and what it costs. It'll be yours to keep whether or not you decide to work with us.
You review; we execute
You'll always see the work before it goes live. No campaign, no ad creative and no page goes out without your sign-off.
Tell us about your brand.
Got it.
We'll come back to you within one working day.
Or just book the call
Free, thirty minutes, no deck. Tell us where you're stuck and we'll tell you what we'd do about it — whether or not we end up working together.
Pick a time ↗Questions worth asking.
Do you only work with large clients?
We work with independent houses, which usually means a founder and a product that took years. What matters is whether there's a brand to build on, not how big it is. If you're pre-launch or spending very little, say so on the call and we'll tell you whether this is worth your money yet.
Do you only work with perfume brands?
Yes. Fragrance and scent — perfume houses, discovery sets, home scent. That's the whole point: everything we learn compounds inside one category instead of being spread thin across five.
Can we hire you for just one thing?
Yes. Media buying only, creative only, or a single landing page — we'll take any one of them on its own. We'll tell you honestly when one lever won't move without another, but we don't force the bundle.
What results can you guarantee?
None, and be careful with anyone who does. Between us we've run seven figures a year in ad spend on brands doing $50M+ in revenue. We specialise in structured testing, honest reporting, and killing losers fast.
Who actually does the work?
The people you talk to. Forget about account managers and annoying handoffs to a junior team — you work directly with the people making the big decisions about your brand.
How fast can we start?
The intro call is thirty minutes. If we're a fit, the audit lands within two weeks and creative or campaigns follow right behind it. We work with a small number of brands at a time, so the honest constraint is our capacity, not our speed.
